Fue formada en Toledo, Ohio, Estados Unidos, en 1996, por Matt Hammitt, Chris Rohman, Mark Graalman y Matt Kollar. Durante años su alineación ha cambiado, siendo integrada actualmente por Dustin Lolli (voz principal, guitarra y teclados), Chris Rohman (Guitarra principal) y Mark Graalman (voz principal).
